San Cristobol Castle

San Cristobol Castle is one of two massive fortresses located in Old San Juan.  It was built to defend the city from a land based attack.

Construction of this historic castle took many years.  The fortress was finally completed in 1783.

Visitors to the San Cristobal fortress can enjoy wonderful views of the city and the Atlantic coast from the castle walls.

San Cristobal Castle is called "El Castillo de San Cristóbal" in Spanish.  It is located directly north of the San Juan Central Bus Terminal.
